How can we improve productivity by prioritizing deep work?

Helping others harness productivity while using their natural strengths has been a big focus for me over the years — it’s what led me to create The Strengths Journal™.

When thinking about the theme of self-development in the area of productivity, I’m inspired by Cal Newport’s book, Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World. Newport defines deep work as “the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task.” In our distraction-heavy digital age, Newport emphasizes the importance of creating space for deep concentration. His book highlights the impact of focused work on both productivity and quality output.
