Joseph Reid is an Amazon Best Selling author and speaker from Detroit, Michigan. On the podcast, we discussed his book "Broken Like Me" which was released in May of 2021. I was able to catch him while he was in town speaking for #NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) here in Davenport, Iowa. We discussed his mental health journey as well as some of the tools he highlights in the book as it is a toolkit for "broken people" who struggle with mental illness. Not only did I get the chance to hear Joseph's (Joe's) story as to what brought him into the world of mental health advocacy, I also had the opportunity to speak to his daughter Hannah Reid for a bit about her father as well as some of her struggles as well. **Trigger warning: suicide is discussed frequently in this podcast.**
