After 18 years and 185 Caps, Banyana Banyana defender Janine Van Wyk has retired from International football - becoming the most-capped African player of all time. Van Wyk guided Banyana to their first-ever World Cup appearance and helped the team win the 2022 Women's African Cup Of Nations (WAFCON). Van Wyk has inspired thousands of young girls around the country to pursue a football career. She is the epitome of what it means to be an ambassador of the game.
