People need to know what you think.

A lot of leadership is about letting people express themselves. A big part of that is how you express yourself to them. It’s critical for a conversation.

Some leaders think feedback should be “found”. In other words, it’s up to employees to figure out how their work is perceived. I think this is a terrible approach. Everyone has a different perception of each situation. You have to make sure that people get the feedback they need to improve; positive or negative.

Generous feedback is about giving people everything they need to contribute the maximum amount they can to the cause. This allows them to feel the most ownership over their work and the most fulfillment.

The more generous your feedback, the more enjoyable is the workplace environment. Keep giving feedback.

Have a generous day.
