Both of his parents were in the military and served for his childhood at multiple duty stations. He was born in Kansas at Fort Riley, Then the family was moved to Hawaii for 3 yrs where he realized the difference in culture bc if your not Hawaiian in Hawaii your an outsider, which Cleo was a black kid among a bunch of Hawaiians and some white kids. After Hawaii they moved back to Kansas and were at Fort Riley again. After his mom got out of the military she started bringing the children to church. Around the age of 9 years old Cleo encountered God when the Lord grabbed his heart at a church service. He ended up really falling in love with MO-Town Detroit music INSTEAD of the Lord, the world snatched him away from the faith. Later he watched his dad fight and scuffle with some men from the church which just happened to be caucasian. This would in turn cause some anger and bitterness towards white people and God.
