In today’s episode I interview Matthew Bracci, President at Title 5 Inspection Service. Matthew has 25 years of experience in civil engineering, design engineering and septic system inspections.

Question List:

  1. What is a title 5 inspection?
  2. Do you inspect anything else besides the outside components?
  3. Why look under the kitchen sink?
  4. Why do you look for salt staining in the basement, what is salt staining, and what does it have to do with a title 5 inspection?
  5. What is the high groundwater elevation?
  6. And what does that have to do with the septic system?
  7. So do you need to pick up research material form the town or from the health department to obtain any of this information?
  8. So what else do you have to look at in the basement?
  9. What happens if everything is not connected to the same system, What if there’s a secondary system or a laundry system?
  10. If I have two systems, does there need to be two totally separate inspections?
  11. Is there a price difference for that?
  12. Once you’ve completed your interior inspection, what’s the next step?
  13. How many system components are there typically?
  14. I’ve heard you do hand digging for all your title 5 inspections, is that true, and how did that come about?
