I didn't file my own taxes for 8 years. What motivated me to get my act together and finally file all those past year returns? Well, a wage garnishment from the Franchise Tax Board was a motivating factor, for sure. But I had got married and didn't want to be "living a lie" with his wife, Liz. When you have tax problems, there can be or will be a lot of marital problems that come along with one spouse not filing taxes. Lot of concealing. Lot of lying. Fear. Panic. Judgement. Et cetera! Listen to my wife explain what she was thinking during this time in our life!
