Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley secures another 30-seat victory in the snap elections recently held in Barbados, meaning that her Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has again denied the opposition even a single seat. In this episode we ask why she and the BLP won so convincingly, and we ask whether the same resounding victory for the incumbent is likely to happen in Antigua and Barbuda as well.

This programme first aired on NewsCo Observer Radio 91.1 FM on January 23rd, 2022. The host is Kieron Murdoch. The guests are:

  1. Dr. Dave Ray (PhD), an Antiguan and Barbudan joining us from New York. He is an elections analyst and campaign organizer. He was a Campaign Field Organizer for the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign.
  2. Dr. Kristina Hinds (PhD), Senior Lecturer in Political Science and International Relations at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Cavehill.
  3. Dr. George Brathwaite (PhD), Lecturer in the Department of Government, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology at The University of the West Indies, Cavehill. Former Consultant Editor at the Caribbean Times in Antigua and Barbuda.
