Bones: Anorexia Anxiety & My Path to Self Love with Robyn Shumer
Manage episode 448894865 series 3172435
Welcome back to the podcast, queens! Today, I have a great guest joining us, Robyn Shumer. Robyn wears many hats: she’s a leadership development facilitator at Johnson & Johnson, a TEDx speaker, a yoga teacher, an executive coach, a mental health advocate, and even a working mom. Robyn is truly dedicated to helping others share their personal and professional stories with impact, all while managing her own journey of self-love and mental wellness.
Robyn is also the author of *Bones: Anorexia, Anxiety, and My Path to Self-Love*, her powerful memoir where she dives deep into her story of healing and transformation. She believes in the power of sharing our most vulnerable stories and even says that preparing for her TEDx talk was more impactful than years of therapy.
In today’s conversation, we’re exploring some powerful themes: the pivotal moments in Robyn’s own recovery, the inspiration behind her mantra, “Don’t be afraid to share the stories that shaped you,” and her thoughts on how our culture’s view of bodies has evolved since her own experience growing up in the 1980s. We’ll also hear about her initiative, *What’s Your Story, USA*, and her advice for those of us who want to share our stories but may feel hesitant.
Robyn’s insights on storytelling, healing, and mental health are sure to resonate, so let’s dive in!
