Jake Wilson - Dredger's Son Interview 3-12-24
Manage episode 406132785 series 3489794
"Growing up in Richmond, California, I was inspired by my dad and Uncle Frank, who used to play guitar and sing songs for our family. I was always amazed by their performances and spent countless hours learning the guitar and practicing the songs that I loved. One day, my Uncle Frank played a song that he had written himself, and it was then that I decided to try writing my own song. My grandmother, Leslie, taught me how to read and write poetry, Shakespeare, and proper grammar and vocabulary, while my grandfather, Cecil, taught me and my brothers how to hunt and fish and to always be honest and kind to our neighbors. All of these experiences shaped me into the person I am today and the kind of music that I create".
