https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/ccrh-trial-final.mp3 Pastor Clearwater, It has come to my attention that your time at the Beavertail Historical Society has come to a firey end. It would appear we need to, once again, find a new placement for you. This time, I have an idea that I believe should suit your particular skill set. Its well known that you famously defended yourself in your trial, successfully even. Therefore we would like you to act as a public defender for the city of Beavertail as the city currently has 0 lawyers and many, many outstanding trials. We will start you out with an easy one, a simple B & E revolving around a stolen trading card. Wayne Lisby from Crumdon will be once again coming into town to serve as prosecutor and you will be arguing before the honorable Wayne Cartwright. I would very much like to come into work without hearing you have somehow lead to another location burning down. -Ethel Laharl Featuring Matthew Schott, Alex Garretson, and Dylan James Amick Pictured; One of the members of the Jury Created by Matthew Schott Edited by Trevor Scott Theme Music by Chris Callahan Produced by Julia Katz, Chelsea Rugg, and Andrew Terrance Kaberline WANT MORE FROM CRITICAL POINT THEATRE? https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/ep3_edit1.mp3 Pastor Clearwater, It has come to my attention that your time in the employment of the local bowling alley has come to an end. I thought that you could keep yourself out of trouble at such a simple job but it appears I gave you too much credit. I spoke with the alley and apparently you impeached the religious freedoms of the patrons? A bad crime for a pastor’s rap-sheet. Nevertheless I have found work that I believe will better suit your particular, presentational skill set. The Beavertail Historical Society is looking for a new tour-guide for their interactive tours through Beavertail history. I have secured this position for you to work off your remaining 11 weeks community service. Please, please try to stay out of trouble. If it is difficult to reach me over the next week it is because I will be out of the office on very private business . Please do not inquire about this further, and please try to at least keep this job until I return. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2017/03/ep_2_edit1.mp3 Pastor Clearwater, It has come to my attention that there was yet another tragedy in the halls of John Wilkes Booth Secular Academy for Grades K-12. Unfortunately it would seem your former superior and Lunch Czar was actually notorious Russian gangster (NAME REDACTED). The majority of the crimes committed that day have been added to her rap-sheet and a nation-wide woman-hunt has begun. In the meantime I must continue my work. Due to a loop-hole in our system, your one day at the academy does in fact count as a full-work week so you have 12 weeks of community service remaining. I’ve decided to assign you to the town’s bowling alley until I can come up with a better, more “legitimate occupation”. Find something to do with yourself and please stay out of trouble. I get enough of that at home! LOL! Please disregard that last sentence. In light of the recent woes at the newspaper, the Pastor takes on the responsibility of reading a backlog of missed obituaries from Beavertail. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2017/03/ccrh_obitiuary_1.mp3 Listen as the Pastor pays tribute to a number of fallen townspeople (incidentally, many of whom have appeared on this program). The Pastor will be organizing a “catch-all vigil” for the deceased, to be held right outside of the previous church (Now Jay Carmichael-owned skate park). The vigil will include the traditional throwing of rocks at a building (the skate park) while traditionally chanting “Jay Sucks. Pastor Rules.” The date of this event will be determined soon. Join us for these tasteful tributes… largely tasteful due to the passing ice cream truck during the recording. Don GET MORE OF YOUR CPT FIX HERE SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCASTS ON ITUNES. Hey Everyone, I realize I’ve neglected to actually tell you what’s going on in these episodes and accidentally been posting my emails instead. That ends now. In the Season Finale, The Pastor invites the rest of the religious figures from the town over for an old-fashioned “Pastor-Off.” Things become tense. Someone might lose their church. Someone might lose their life. An old mystery might be solved.- Don’s Editor Note Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I have one more email to share with you all! https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/ccrh-finale-edit2.mp3 Don, Wow. What a year its been ‘huh? First off, I really just need to apologize for how I’ve treated you this year. I’ve been incredibly distant and once you dropped that bombshell earlier on…well it shook me. But I’m gonna make up for all the time we’ve lost this year by being honest with you now. Things weren’t great with Todd before then end. We were fighting a lot, we stopped sleeping in the same room and eventually he just started seeing other people. I knew and I didn’t stop him because I wanted him to fall in love with someone else, I wanted him to find happiness elsewhere because I knew we couldn’t find it together. Whenever we were in the same room I just felt, distracted, like my mind….my heart was elsewhere. I know where it was now, Don. I’m ready to admit what I wasn’t ready to say all those months ago. I think…I think I have feelings for you too. You are the only person who ever really “got” me, you know? And that book you wrote? That was hilarious, Don. It was exactly my sense of humor, the exact thing Todd never understood about me. He wrote 50 best selling detective novels to try and connect with me and your hastily-written, spelling-error-filled manuscript understood me better than he ever could. This is going to sound bad but…when Todd passed, I felt…relief. Like I could finally start all over…all over with you. I knew you had nothing to do with it, I know your soul, Don. Its gentle and passionate. I’ve always loved that about you. I know this is completely crazy but seeing all the things you’ve done this year and watching your friend Pastor Clearwater defend you so passionately in that courtroom it just…it just really woke something up in me and I’m ready to explore that if you are. What do you say, little brother? Do you want to meet for coffee and see if we can figure this thing out, together? The trial of the century, The People vs. Donald Falcom, has come to a close. As per Beavertail tradition, the all-female jury returned from their delibirations at the Beavertail Holiday Inn’s special Jury Delibiration chamber and spa, to announce their verdict. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/ccrh-scary-stories_edit2.mp3 After weeks of debate and arguments from the Defense, Beavertail’s own Pastor Creedence Clearwater and Crumdon’s Lawyer of the Year, Michael Davenport, the Jury has found Donald “not guilty” on the charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, waffle-theft, and bad-murder thoughts. The much talked about trial reached a turning-point last week when Pastor Clearwater’s “Court Filibuster technique” of reading the entirety of Hiromu Arakawa’s landmark manga series “Full Metal Alchemist”, (complete with descriptions of each image and commentary) was interrupted by a shocking revelation from the morgue. The cause of death, initially thought to be a stabbing with thousands of tiny knives, was revealed to be snake venom. Shortly there-after the security tapes of the Denny’s parking lot revealed that Donald had a brief conversation with the victim, Todd Sinnoh, where-in he apologized profusely for “trying to get in the way of his true love’s happiness” and Mr. Sinnoh replied with “I hope you get bit by thousands of venomous snakes you horrible man”. Donald then fled the scene in tears before a cruel irony befell Mr Sinnoh and he was swarmed by thousands of venomous snakes that had flooded the streets of Beavertail. While managing to fight off some of them, Mr. Sinnoh stumbled off into the woods where he succumbed to his wounds. The tapes were truly damning for the prosecution who responded with “well, this sucks. Oh well, I give up.” and proceeded to leave the courtroom. Mr. Davenport could not be reached for comment. When asked why he did not think to review the security tape sooner, Detective Jim Silvers, head of the investigation replied with “It didn’t seem too important at the time.” Donald Falcon, now a free-man, has returned to his job assisting Pastor Clearwater with his podcast “The Creedence Clearwater Revival Hour”. The town of Beavertail has been rocked a PTA election that left 26 people dead, a snake infestation and an animal uprising but now its about about to face the biggest thing It’s seen all year: A trial. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/ccrh_10_edit2.mp3 Donald Falcon, local podcast engineer is facing murder charges after the body of his brother-in-law, one Todd Sinnoh was found last month. After a lengthy investigation by BTPD, Donald was found at his place of residence. Apparently the police had neglected to check there, assuming he had made some kind of break for it. After Dustin Sanford tragically lost his life in the Overstreet Riots , our town has been lawyer-less, although up to this point all matters of dispute have been settled by trials by combat so it hasn’t really been an issue. All that is about to change since Donald has outright refused to fight reigning champion Sharon Overstreet, opting instead for a old fashion or “talk-’em-out” trial. Donald will be represented by his friend, local pastor Creedence Clearwater, whereas the people are bringing in Crumdon’s biggest hotshot lawyer, Michael Davenport. At this time Donald has been released on bail and the trial is expected to begin as soon as he passes his Voight-Kampff Test, proving his isn’t an android replica of the actual defendant, as per Beavertail Law. Stay tuned to The Beavertail Bugle for more on the story as it develops…by which we mean please keep subscribing to this paper. We really need to keep the newspaper industry alive in this town. Newspapers serve a lot of functions you know. Now that you are done reading this article, you could wrap a birthday present in this paper! Or line your bird cage! Maybe make a hat? Please. Strap-in, ladies and gentlemen. The recording you are about to hear is from an ACTUAL classroom. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/ccrh-mini-subsitute.mp3 Beavertail Middle School has become the first of what is sure to be tens of hundreds of schools taking part in a brand new audio-substitute teacher program the Pastor and I created. Using an incredibly life-like child-based recording device made from a sack of hay and a photograph from Getty Images, I was able to sneak a microphone into Mrs. Stacy Johto’s 1st period History Class. Take a listen at the way the Pastor’s recording completely commands the room and instills the youngsters of that class with a kind of Dead Poets Society-esc fervor to learn!
