1. 2025-26 School Choice Round 1 is Almost Here & Enrollment Guides are Available Online
The DPS SchoolChoice Round 1 enrollment window for the 25-26 school year opens at 10am on Jan. 15 and runs through Feb. 18, 2025 at 4pm. Want to learn more about the School Choice Process? SchoolChoice explainer video.
Speaking of–the Enrollment Guides for the 2025-26 school year are now available online, and are the go-to resource for information on all DPS schools. These guides include a general overview of each school as well as contact information, location and program offerings, and outline all the steps needed to complete the SchoolChoice application.
In addition to the Enrollment Guides, you can check out the FAQ and the School Finder to prepare for Round 1. If you need additional help or have questions, start by contacting the SchoolChoice hotline at 720-423-3493, emailing schoolchoice@dpsk12.org or contacting your school of interest.
2. Community Resources for Winter Break
DPS’ Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team has compiled a comprehensive resource list of meals, housing, mental health winter activities. That list is linked in our show notes.
In addition to the food banks mentioned in the FACE resources, don’t forget– the City and County's Office of Children Affairs is offering a free supper and/or snack at any Tasty Food site for youth (ages five-18) across Denver during the holiday break! No registration or ID is required -- students can simply drop by and enjoy a nutritious meal! We have the Tasty Food schedule flier linked in English and Spanish in our show notes for more information.
3. Homework Help For Parents
Homework Help for Parents Learning Course is available now in English and Spanish on Articulate! This course is quick, easy, and individualized to your child’s grade level needs. The first 20 families that complete the course and closing survey will receive a parent champion bag for participating! 4. DPS Department of Activities Presents: Montbello High School Drumline at the Denver Parade of Lights
Thanks to our Department of Activities, Montbello High School’s Drumline, along with the Latinx Student Alliance and Black Student Alliance represented Denver Public Schools and the Department of Activities at this year’s Denver Parade of Lights. The students worked tirelessly for months to prepare and their dedication paid off as they performed for their largest crowd yet. Their incredible energy, talent and teamwork showcased the pride and spirit of Montbello and DPS.

5. Upcoming Winter Break
Winter Break is almost here! DPS students are off beginning Monday, Dec. 23- Monday, Jan. 6. Students return to school Tuesday, Jan. 7. Please check your school specific calendars for more information.
