SUMMARY:
The Call of Cthulhu by H. P. Lovecraft is a short story that recounts the discovery of strange notes that the narrator was left by his late Grand-uncle. Among the notes is a bas-relief that depicts a octopus-dragon creature. Going through the notes, the narrator, Francis Wayland Thurston finds out that the sculptor based the word on a series of delirious dreams that he had been having. His dreams depict "Great Cyclopean cities of titan blocks and sky-flung monoliths" with frequent references to Cthulhu and R'lyeh. In the papers, Thurston also finds reports from his uncle of mass hysteria around the world and writings that his uncle is thankful that no one else cross referenced the chaos.
