Shibani and Rajeev are a remarkable couple and an excellent example of a thoughtful life lived while embracing its many quirks and while fulfilling many roles. Rajeev is currently retired after about 40 years in the Information Technology industry. Shibani was in the banking industry and now works as a sales manager at an event space. They also together ran a restaurant for about 10 years.
While their arrival into this country was sprinkled with reluctance and sheer chance, once they came, they opened up their hearts and minds to the community around them so sincerely that they became the ‘glue’ in their circle of friends.
Shibani and Rajeev are great representatives of an Indian-American couple leading their family into establishing their roots while being open to inviting in the predominant culture around them, and being savvy stewards of the cultural heritage that they define as their own. Theirs is a story of fearlessness in constantly adapting and reinventing themselves, their sunny outlook and their policy of When in Rome…
