Physical Pain and Personal Growth - What I Learned as a Creative
Manage episode 407282435 series 3562084
Today:
I have been away from producing creative content for a little over six weeks. In the middle of September, I experienced serious back injury preventing me from standing or sitting for any period of time. As someone who in general has no health problems, my back injury experience came as wake-up call.
Physical pain quickly becomes encased in dysphoria, self-doubt, and a defeat. The emotional roller coaster I experienced caused me to reflect on how I want the rest of my life to unfold through the activities I participate in and the relationships I choose moving forward.
One of the biggest questions I asked myself is whether or not to continue podcasting and publishing content on YouTube as a creative endeavour. This led me to ask the very provocative question, "If I only created content for myself, rather than a broader audience (social media), would I still create?"
