In this episode, the Hip Hop Lobbyist have three special guests - The Alaina Show, Smalls and Travis to discuss homophobia in the hip hop, millennial and black community. Not trying to change anyone perspective on homosexuality. This episode is an open dialogue to share the perspective of 4 individuals - a straight male, straight female, gay female and gay male - and their perspective on the homophobic nature of African-American people & hip hop. Our conversation highlights everything from the role the black church plays in homophobia, transgender relations, discovering your sexuality, the definition of being gay and bi-sexual, along with the civil rights issues from being black and gay in America. In This Episode, We Ask: When did you know you were straight or homosexual? Why most black people are against gays or homosexuality as a whole? How long has this been a problem and what do we have to gain? How does it feel being gay and black in today’s America? Does having sex with someone of the same-sex one time make you bi-sexual or gay? Or can they be curious without being labeled that way? Thoughts on transgenders vs gays, which is less acceptable?
