On what Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu dubbed a "a historic day in the Middle East," the Syrian regime led by President Bashar Assad was overthrown by rebel groups on Sunday. Netanyahu credited Israel's weakening of Iran and Hezbollah for the regime collapse. As a result, Israel has deployed troops in the Israel/Syria buffer zone for the first time since 1974, to ensure that none of the rebel groups turn their attention towards the Jewish State. It remains to be seen what will happen, but the Iran/Syria/Hezbollah access of evil has certainly been depleted.
