The city is "assessing the full impact it may have on city operations." Meanwhile, New York City Council members are gearing up to sue the Department of Correction to ensure the enactment of a ban on solitary confinement in city jails. A resolution passed Thursday gives Council Speaker Adrienne Adams the authority to bring legal action to "defend" the ban, which is set to go into effect on July 28.
