After both teams put up dominating performances in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, their paths diverged.

The Texas women continued their dominating ways and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in four years under Vic Schaefer. A combination of suffocating defense and offensive rebounding led the ladies to the second weekend of the tournament and, hopefully, an even deeper run.

The men's offensive struggles continued against Tennessee, with turnovers and a lack of consistent playmakers ultimately spelling the end of the season for them.
