The Kingdom Is Like A Child Being Rescued From An Abusive Father

In a small country town surrounded by wheat fields that shone under the sun, there lived a little boy named Luke.

Luke’s world at home was far from the warmth and light of those fields.

His father, consumed by his own unresolved sorrows and anger, often turned his wrath upon him, casting a shadow over his life.

Luke’s only relief was the small, neglected garden behind his house.

There, amidst the wildflowers and overgrown grass, he found moments of peace.

He imagined the garden as a kingdom where he was safe and loved, ruled by a benevolent, unseen king who promised to protect all who entered.

One stormy night, as thunder echoed the turmoil in his home, Luke’s father's temper reached a frightful peak.

In his fear, Luke fled to his garden, the rain mingling with his tears.

Hiding under an old oak tree, he whispered into the storm, calling for the king of his imaginary realm to save him.

As the rain poured down, softening the harsh outlines of his world, a figure emerged from the shadows, clothed in radiant robes that seemed woven from the light itself.

The figure approached Luke, his presence so calming that the storm seemed to quiet around them.

"Do not be afraid, Luke," he spoke with a voice that resonated with the power to still the winds and soothe his deepest fears.

"I am here, and you are safe with me now."

He extended his hand, and as Luke placed his small, trembling hand in his, the garden transformed.

The wildflowers bloomed with renewed vigor, the grass stood taller, and even the old oak seemed to stretch its branches protectively over them.

With the figure leading him, they walked together out of the garden.

As they reached the edge, Luke saw that the townspeople had come, drawn not by the storm but by a force they could hardly understand.

They saw the fear and pain Luke had endured and, with the figure’s encouragement, vowed to shield him and give him the life he deserved.

The figure, whom only Luke could see clearly, turned to him with a gentle smile.

"Remember, my kingdom is always with you."

With those parting words, he faded into the breaking dawn, leaving behind a new day filled with promise.

In this tale, just as the figure—Christ in his gentle majesty—rescues Luke, he reaches out to all who suffer in silence and fear.

Christ enters our lives with a light that dispels the darkest shadows, offering a path to safety, a community of support, and a new beginning filled with love and hope.
