Episode 56: The Failures of Sex Education with Ngaa Murombedzi
Manage episode 319570609 series 3200249
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode touches on sexual abuse but does not go into depth regarding it.
On this episode we are joined by Advocacy Manager from the Women and Men Against Child Abuse organisation, Ngaa Murombedzi, to speak on the failures of sex education at large. This comes after a series of statistics (including teen pregnancy, HIV infection rates etc.) point to the lack of translation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) content, since its introduction in 2000. Ngaa walks us through subsequent implications as we further discuss how we relate to sex as well as the idea of consent and boundaries in our young adult lives.
