Welcome Back Everyone

We’re taking a break from our summer finance series this week to cover an equally important topic—the proliferation of bias in the media. Our guest today is Isaac Saul, the creator of Tangle, a popular daily newsletter and podcast that seeks to provide independent, non-partisan coverage of American politics. Over the last several years, Isaac has built up an impressive following of over 65,000 daily readers and has become one of the most important voices for media reform in the world.

I wanted to have Isaac on the show because I think he’s really on to something with Tangle and believe what he’s doing is pivotal for the revitalization of our American Democracy. The 4th Estate, a necessary component of any democracy, almost didn’t survive the arrival of the Internet and Social Media. I say “almost” because people like Isaac are proving that there’s still genuine demand out there for rational, civil political engagement. While the Internet may have broken the business model of the news and introduced scary threats like the echo chamber effect, clickbait, and fake news, a new frontier has emerged and creators like Isaac are paving the way.

In this engaging discussion, we cover

  • The Ins and Outs of the Tangle Newsletter
  • The inspiring origin story behind it
  • How Isaac goes about the not so easy task of trying to develop an unbiased perspective
  • The fascinating, unexpected feedback Isaac gets from Tangle readers
  • Much, much more

As always, thanks for tuning in and Hope you all enjoy.
