On Episode 101 today's guest hails from Connecticut. He's a Beatmaker, DeeJay, Skateboarder, Graphic Designer, live performer (recently performing at Seeing Sounds Festival) & more. Please welcome Mark Little to the show. Enjoy!
During this episode, we chopped it up about his music journey, inspirations, aspirations and more. Mark Little grew up as a Navy dependent, living in Florida, Italy and finally planting roots in Connecticut. Living at various locations allowed him to expand his understanding of cultures including languages, music, food and more. Living in Washington State, he played Playstation 1 with Tony Hawks Pro Skater and heard to the game soundtrack. Listening to R&B, Rock, Jazz, Soul, Then discovering Hip Hop like Madlib, Looppack, J Dilla, MF DOOM, De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest early in his adolescence. Thanks to his father, he exposed him to Rakim, Nas, JAY Z, DMX and wanted to learn the history. He names his Greatest Beats of All Time from "Dooms Day" by MF DOOM, "What We Do" by Freeway & Just Blaze, & "We Goin Make It" by Jadakiss and Alchemist. He names his Beatmaker/Music Producer Superheros like Roy Ayers, Teddy Riley, Flying Lotus, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, DJ Shadow, RZA and more. Learning about samplers and learning Fruity Loop aka FL Studio. Started a group called Blackbirds and learning beat arrangement. In 2014, he was inspired by DIBIA$E, Ras G, Flying Lotus, and Knxwledge to obtain a SP404SX which allowed him to level up his music production.
Mark Little gave details about albums like Sup Dawg Vol 1, 2 & 3. He also talked about how Hip-Hop and Skateboarding mix well because of the artistic expressing. Mark left crazy jewels, inspiring words for Beatmakers and detailed what's in store for the rest of 2023.
