Perfectionism Sucks! Here's How to Beat It
Manage episode 418538264 series 3390767
Ever spent ages trying to make something perfect, only to feel like it's never good enough? That's what we're talking about today.
In our last chat, I mentioned how you don't need fancy gear to start making good content. But sometimes, we get stuck trying to make everything just right before we even get started. That's called perfectionism.
Perfectionism is when you keep tweaking and fixing things, trying to make them perfect. But here's the thing—it can stop you from ever sharing your work! You end up worrying so much about making it perfect that you never actually put it out there.
I used to do this a lot, but now I've learned it's better to just get stuff out there, even if it's not perfect. Because guess what? Nothing's ever perfect! The more you put stuff out there, the better you get.
Here's what I've learned:
Perfectionism is just being scared of people not liking you or your stuff.
Spending ages trying to make things perfect doesn't always make them better.
Instead of trying to be perfect, focus on getting better each time you make something.
Remember, it's okay if your stuff isn't perfect. What matters is that you keep making things and keep getting better at it.
