S&M Cast Portrait Post Blacksmith 9.2016 with Philly

Greetings from the Sorcerer & the Magician!

Greetings Tarot fans! Particularly those of the Philadelphian persuasion. This time we take a look with our always sunny perspective at the honorable James Boyle’s wonderfully illustrated ‘The Philly Tarot Deck’ boasting Clothes’ Pins, Cheesesteaks, Quills, and Subway Tokens in place of the traditional rider white imagery of Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. Join us for our literal first ever review (Or is it?) of a new deck of Tarot cards! Check out James’ wonderful artwork via his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/jamesboyleillustration/ or anywhere else on the internet that he can be found! While your at it, toss open one more browser tab and check out our page on podchaser or facebook as well if you are so inclined and don’t forget to leave a star or 5, just five. As always, happy to hear from you at SMPODCASTSM@GMAIL.COM !

Also, a few notes / corrections to mention.

1. The Moon card depicts William Penn atop City Hall, not Benjamin Franklin. The foolish Magician had their Philly History wrong and fells great shame about this.

2. The Lovers – There’s a mistake in the guidebook where Gina refers to the statue depicted as Rodin’s “The Thinker”, when it is actually Rodin’s “The Kiss” (to be corrected in the second printing). A tiny mistake, but one to look out for if you are deeply invested in art history! No harm no foul baby!

Artwork of the box by James Boyle included in our image was taken by cameraphone and lovingly cut out in mspaint and slapped onto our classic ‘pits of hell’ image.
