The Need for Queer Visibility with Shannon Collins
Manage episode 364608912 series 3472043
In today’s episode, I am joined by Shannon Collins, the founder of Youthphoria, a project dedicated to celebrating and photographing trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth in the Philadelphia area at no cost, which just recently won Best Photographer in Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly for this work. As a nonbinary, queer, Autistic, and disabled person, Shannon has been educating others during their journey of self-discovery.
During this episode, we have lovely conversations around the idea that sparked such significant change and the beginning of Youthphoria. We will unpack the goals and impact of Youthphoria and shed light on the journey to a great partnership and team within this organization. We will also chat and reflect on Shannon’s journey related to their style, its evolution through identity, and the importance of acceptance and fluidity for all generations.
