In this epsiode we sit down with Tione Trice, a Spatial Designer and Founder of OF THE CLOTH, a design company and boutique store in Rockefeller Center in Manhattan that sells African and African American antiques. Trice has been collecting curiosities and rarified objects since the age of 15 and grew his career to include brand development, design, and sourcing.

Over the last decade, Tione’s design philosophy has been distilled. The purpose of design and art is not merely aesthetic; when practiced with clear intention, it possesses healing properties imbued into the space and its inhabitants, and OF THE CLOTH is the culmination of these experiences.

Earlier this month Trice was featured in the New York Times in a piece called 'Putting Black Design in a Spotlight' which paid homage to his unique eye, presentation style, and how he's making waves in interior design. “These people are holding on to their dollar because they want to spend it with me. There are no shops like what I do in the city: People come to me for truth. They come to me for rare.”

He's a true gift, and the kind of wavemaker we're honoured to have on the show.

Enjoy the epsiode and follow Tione at @tionetrice and @ofthecloth.us.
