Manage episode 335585802 series 3343632
Welcome to episode 6 of Thoughts From the Pickup Line, hosted by Tyler Smith and Brandon “BG” Gregg, two financial planners and family men from Indiana, who wanted to create a finance podcast about more than just finance.
Every week on Thoughts From the Pickup Line, listen to Tyler and BG give their thoughts on financial planning and investments, family, the things that bring them joy, the challenges they encounter along the way, and how they overcome them.
On last week’s episode, Tyler was checking in from the ocean during week one of his vacation. This week, he’s lakeside and making BG incredibly jealous.
Then, Tyler and BG think about cash flow planning, and explain how it’s goal-based, and different for every individual—and that the key is in asking the right questions and clearly defining your goals.
Getting reflective on dad life, the guys think about how quickly their kids are growing up, sharing a few anecdotes from their summer adventures. Plus, BG shares a recent experience with Meals on Wheels as Tyler prepares to volunteer.
BG introduces Combat Cookies, a Dayton, Indiana veteran run company that specializes in sending care packages to active military.
This week, Tyler and BG once again talk about cryptocurrency when touching on investments. However, this week the guys caution against the scams that so often come along with digital currency, and give key tips for those who do decide to invest.
To close out the episode, Tyler shares a “Thomas story”, the guys reflect on the 4th of July, and share what they’re grateful for this week.
