André Ruelo found his niche in music when he decided to take interest in playing the guitar after much prodding from his mom. With a vast background in theater, music was the next choice when it came to answering the question, “What do I want to do?”
He first joined Trumpets Playshop at just 9 years old. Joining every year, not knowing that this, this would be the start of a new beginning. It transformed him into a total performer. All those workshops with Trumpets honed his talents and he was blessed to be under the tutelage of the some of the country’s best performers and teachers, namely, Moy Ortiz, Annie Uy, and Sweet Tiongson, to name a few.
He has worked in several musical theater productions with theater luminaries such as 9 Works Theatrical’s A Christmas Carol with Miguel Faustmann, Resorts World Manila’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with Gian Magdangal, and Repertory Philippines’ Hansel and Gretel with Bituin Escalante. He is now taking up Music Theory under Toma Cayabyab, the son of the esteemed National Artist, Ryan Cayabyab.
