Marlon Julian Nombrado is one of the co-founders of Out of The Box Media (OOTB) Literacy Initiative, a Philippines-based educational nonprofit that creates innovative learning tools and experiences that foster media literate Filipinos.
Along with his organization OOTB, he was awarded First Prize in the 2021 Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Awards of the UNESCO MIL Alliance. He has published reference materials, taught in hundreds of workshops, and produced media campaigns on how to critically and responsibly engage with media for civic good.
Marlon is also an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program or IVLP, the premier exchange program of the United States State Department for emerging foreign leaders. Besides his work in OOTB, he also teaches media studies at the University of the Philippines Baguio.
