Hello everyone and welcome to, or welcome back to Ture Crime Recap. This is episode two: Kitty Genovese.
Kitty Genovese was a happy, outgoing young woman who managed a local bar in her neighborhood. Kitty was returning home from work late one night when she was brutally attacked. There were dozens of witnesses to the crime, in which not one single person reported it.
Kitty Genovese's case initiated the now commonly known "Bystander Effect".
