Anna Dickson James's debut short story collection BOYS BUY ME DRINKS TO WATCH ME FALL DOWN, has been hailed by Kirkus Reviews as "razor sharp tales of fortitude and self discovery." Across 18 different stories, James explores a variety of themes, ranging from the male gaze to the beauty industry, obligations to others and family and self, and does so in ways both unexpected (roller derbies, pinatas, the zombie apocalypse, and funk festivals) and mundane (school drop off, clubbing, and a vegetable garden).
