A teenage punk rocker, Dan Henk was kicked out of home and slept in the woods with a rock as a pillow for eight months. He was stabbed and his tendon was severed by a crackhead. He put himself through art college, moved to NYC to start a career, and then came down with brain cancer. Seven years later, after being supported by his new wife as he went through five years of chemo, radiation, and recovery, she was killed in a hit and run. He moved to Austin and was writing his first novel. A young lady plowed into him while texting and he woke up four hours later in the hospital.
Moving back up north, he was driving in PA when suddenly a massive construction patch (with no warning signs) appeared after a curve in the road and his FJ40 spun out, flipped, and dove into a tree off the road. The vehicle was completely totalled, and he woke up in the woods.
Regardless of all this, he kept trying to move forward. He now owns a tattoo shop in NYC, is a published author (with three books and two chapbooks out), and has done artwork for books, magazines, apparel, and bands. He has been in hundreds of books and magazines, mostly around 2008-2014.
