This song seamlessly blends a contemporary style with the understated, earthy quality of traditional Hakka culture, creating a finely crafted melody. The poem mentions the “Hsiao Family’s Old House,” which immediately reminded band member and teacher Yan Zhi-wen (顏志文) of the narrow lanes of his own childhood home. This connection sparked a natural flow of emotions and brought vivid inspiration to the creative process.
