Good morning, weather watchers! This is your Austin weather update, coming in hot (but not too hot) from the National Weather Service.
Today, we're looking at a gorgeous sunny day in Texas with temperatures climbing to a toasty 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be dancing from the south southeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour, then doing a little afternoon pirouette to the west.
Tonight, we're cooling things down to a crisp 51 degrees. Expect clear skies and light winds that will whisper from the north northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour after midnight.
Moving into Tuesday, we're keeping it cool with a high near 66 degrees. North northeast winds will be gently blowing at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Tuesday night drops down to a chilly 40 degrees with mostly clear skies.
New Year's Day brings more sunshine and a high of 61 degrees with a light northeast breeze.
As we roll through the rest of the week, expect temperatures hovering in the low to mid 60s, with a mix of sunny and partly cloudy conditions. We'll see a slight warming trend by the weekend, with Sunday potentially reaching 74 degrees.
For those meteorology mavens and weather enthusiasts, you can dive deeper into the forecast by checking out the National Weather Service Austin link in our show notes.
