Today on the Winning on Wednesday Podcast, we spoke with John Hill, Founder of the Long Island Advancement of Small Business (LIASB).

John founded the Long Island Advancement of Small Business in 2009. The LIASB was created to bring together small businesses on Long Island, with 49 employees or less, and help them compete for business and avail themselves of lower cost benefits.

He is also a Business Consultant, Trainer, Speaker, Writer, Marketing & Sales Specialist, and Trade Show Coach/Consultant.

John has over 30+ years of experience developing and managing businesses. His roles have included National Sales Manager, VP of Sales, Director of Marketing, General Manager, VP of Business Development, EVP and COO. He also was elected & served as President & CEO of three public companies, and successfully raised over 7.5 million dollars on Wall Street.

John is also the Founder, President, and CEO of JAH & Associates, Inc. For 15 years John successfully operated JAH-Business Support Services organization, a sole proprietorship. During this time, John was responsible for the sale, implementation, and operation of biometric systems used for the prevention of welfare fraud that was installed in Nassau and Suffolk Counties of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Because of this effort, John was awarded a Proclamation by the Suffolk County Legislator for saving the taxpayers of Suffolk County over One Million Dollars.

John is a published author and has published a number of articles for Computer World, Sales, and Marketing magazine; Long Island Business News; and the Hauppauge Reporter as well as books and monographs regarding marketing, sales, and trade shows. His latest book "Tips and Tales from the Booth: Avoiding Trade Show Mistakes" was introduced in June of 2008 and is presently working on an updated version.
