Series 1 Episode 19
Welcome to series 1 episode 19 of the Your App Lady Podcast!
All about apps and tech that I love and use every day.
On each episode, I’ll talk about recent tech news, recommend apps that I use myself and leave you with a great tech tip.
Tech News
With a screen close to 6.5 inches, Apple’s big new handset will be one of the largest mainstream smartphones on the market. While the body of the phone will be about the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus, the screen will be about an inch larger thanks to the edge-to-edge design used in the iPhone X. (Apple is unlikely to refer to the phone as a phablet, a term popularized by Samsung).

App of the Week: NINE - A Visual To-Do and Reminder List
By Ideas Made Digital, available for iOS.
NINE is a photo-based list app, meaning you take photos to make your list. Each photo is then paired with text and put into an icon-based list. You can add a date and/or time-based reminder; recurring reminders are also supported. The app automatically adds a location to your entry. You can send your entries to other people via text message, email, Voxer, What's App, Twitter, Facebook and more. You can also copy your entries into the Reminders app, the Notes app, Google Drive, Asana and others.
Tech Tip
Alexa Skill that can help you stay on a diet.
As soon as the holidays are over through, this skill might be your new BFF. More pie? Pasta? Beer? Wine? Whatever you’re craving, this is the moment when a few words of support can make the difference. Enable the Talk Me Down skill and say, “Alexa, talk me down.” She’ll then say one of 31 canned phrases like, “Don’t give in to weakness,” “Fight for yourself. Defend your future.” Or, later when those cookie cravings come calling again, “You’re stronger than this. You’re smarter than this. You’re better than this.” Genius.
