For many of us in our fast-paced society, running ourselves into the ground is the norm. Work, church, family commitments, youth activities, and more eat up our time and leave us on the verge of burnout.

Dr. Nekeshia Hammond, psychologist and corporate coach, is a mental wellness expert focused on supporting executives and organizations in creating healthier, more productive workplaces by tackling burnout directly.

Dr. Hammond joins the show this week to help listeners better understand what causes burnout and how we can prevent it in order to perform at our best.

In this episode you will learn:

  • How and why we have agency in our mental states, and how we can train ourselves to snap out of funks.

  • How prioritizing ourselves is key to success in preventing burnout.

  • Why community plays a major role in our mental well-being, and how to look for quality community to surround yourself with.

  • The power that reframes have on how we view our situations, and therefore our mindsets.

  • The impact that grounding rituals have on our mental well-being, and how you can begin creating your own - just 60 seconds at a time.

  • When you can work on your mental health alone vs when professional help is advised.

  • How a consistent gratitude practice can support you in curbing the effects of burnout.
