Passage

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

ESV (English Standard Version)

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!

NLT (New Living Translation)

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

NIV (New International Version)

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Ask Yourself

"How can I be a source of encouragement and support to someone facing anxiety or another mental health challenge this week?"

Walk it Out

Reflect

  • On Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 and how you can actively build up others with your words and actions.
  • Meditate on the importance of supportive relationships and consider how you can be a pillar of strength for someone struggling with mental health challenges.
  • Think about the ways you can be attentive and patient, truly listening to the needs of others.

Engage

  • Reach out to someone who may be struggling with anxiety or a mental health challenge.
  • Offer them a listening ear, your presence, or a word of encouragement.
  • Make a conscious effort to be involved and support those who are differently wired, stepping forward with grace and courage.

Pray

  1. Pray for individuals struggling with mental health challenges, asking God to grant them comfort and supportive relationships.
  2. Pray for an increased sense of empathy and understanding within yourself and your community to better support those who are differently wired.
  3. Pray for transformation within yourself, asking God to help you be attuned to the needs of your community and reflect His love and care.
