Here are 10 fluffy facts about waffles that you didn’t know, that you didn’t need to know:
- The precursor to the first waffles didn’t look or taste anything like the ones we are used to. They were originally invented by the ancient greeks.
- Catholic Church sold early version of waffles in Middle Ages at religious fairs and festivals.
- Thomas Stackbeck created the first commercial electric waffle iron in 1911.
- Ice cream cones were invented when a Missouri Ice cream vendor ran out of cups. They are just folded waffles.
- The rectangular grid came as a way to cook less batter over a greater surface area.

- The Eggo Brand started as a mayo company.
- When they first went to market, Eggos were called Froffles.
