With the third round of the football championships just over a week away, I sat down with St Patricks manager, Mick Kehoe, to discuss what is going to be a tense and exciting week for his club and the rest of the teams in the county.
The Tinryland man, who was recently appointed manager of the Carlow minor footballers, is articulate, easy to talk to and he was happy to discuss some of the issues which affect the local and national GAA scene.
Among other things, he points out the way forward for clubs who have underachieved and says the might of the likes of Éire Og and Rathvilly can be taken on and defeated. He says the culture of verbal abuse of referees must stop and cannot be tolerated any longer.
