• Quote from Sarah Young about how she listens to God and says, “As I receive it [messages] from Him [Jesus Christ].”
• Sarah Young tells CBN.com that she hears from “Jesus” and she writes down messages from Jesus!
• It’s black and white, it’s right there in print—this is what Sarah Young claims to be doing—hearing from God.
• We have to examine what Sarah Young is allegedly receiving from her “Jesus” and writing down in her book!
• What exact kinds of teachings is Sarah Young “receiving”—that she claims are from Jesus.
• CBN asks Sarah Young, “Share a memorable experience when you began listening to God—with pen in hand.”
• Sarah Young responds with, “I began my listening—writing adventure while living in Melbourne, Australia…I was comforted by messages gleaned from listening to God…To my delight I was able to ‘listen’ to Jesus in the hospital as readily as in my home…God’s precious messages continued flowing into my journal. This helped me stay close to Jesus throughout the tumultuous time.”
• Yes, Sarah Young actually says, “God’s precious messages continued flowing into my journal.”
• CBN asks Sarah Young, “What are some of the most important truths you have learned from journaling?”
• Note that Sarah Young’s method of “journaling” is what she says leads her into a “presence” and “peace” that she claims are from God.
• What else could this be but some form of channeling, or clairvoyance, or telepathy?
• This sounds exactly like some of the definitions in a massive New Age/occult book titled, The Donning Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary.
• How is it that Sarah Young has to implement a method—a “journaling” technique—in order to experience the “peace of God”?
• Paul and Silas experienced the peace of God even whilst they were persecuted and after they had been beaten with rods. They were singing praises to God in a prison cell (Acts 16:22-25).
• What Sarah Young is doing sounds like literary mediumship. This definition if from June Beltzer’s Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary.
  • LITERARY MEDIUM - one who is capable of allowing an ETHERIC WORLD INTELLIGENCE to intervene in some form of psychic skill, and the resulting communications are teachings of WISDOM; information is correct, and has an elegant style, displaying a very high intelligence. [cf. MEDIUMSHIP, INNER BAND, CONTROL, PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT CIRCLE]” (June G. Beltzer, The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary, Whitford Press, 1986, p. 357.)
  • CLAIRAUDIENCE - (French, “clear audio”) to perceive sounds or words when no person present is speaking or no article is causing the disturbance; sounds that are inaudible to the normal hearing range appear to come from “within the head” or from “out in the atmosphere,” perceived singly” (June G. Beltzer, The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary, Whitford Press, 1986, pp. 112-113.)
• These New Age psychic definitions speak volumes in light of what Sarah Young claims she is hearing, regarding her interactions and “dialoguing with God”; especially since there are New Age/occult buzzwords and concepts sprinkled all throughout Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling devotional. • Is this a lying spirit somehow communicating with Sarah Young, giving her truths from the Bible mixed with partial truths that are actually lies?
• Is this not just like Eve listening to Lucifer (Satan) in the Garden of Eden, as Lucifer lied to Eve by telling her half-truths.
  • “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods [like god], knowing good and evil…And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled [deceived] me, and I did eat.” (Genesis 3:4-5, 13)
• What Sarah Young is doing sounds exactly like what Paul the Apostle warned about nearly 2000 years ago!
  • “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils [demons].” (1 Timothy 4:1)
• Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware!
