As an employee, you understand the importance of safeguarding sensitive company information. However, there's another risk to consider – one that hits close to home. That risk is oversharing by family members, especially children, on social media. For example, posting photos and detailed descriptions of family trips, events, and other parts of their lives that are also, by extension, part of yours. You've likely received training on how cybercriminals trawl social media for information to exploit, such as noting when executives are away on holidays to run business email compromise and fake invoice scams. But your family members may not be aware of these risks. Since they're not sitting through the same security awareness training as you, they may not think twice about posting detailed information about your whereabouts and activities. This innocent sharing can put you, your colleagues, and your company at risk. Be sure to educate your family members about what they post and when – not only to protect their cyber safety, but to help you protect company information and maintain a secure work environment. The 60-second "Security Nudge" is brought to you by CybSafe, developers of the Human Risk Management Platform. Learn more at https://cybsafe.com
