Some people describe themselves as begin a “perfectionist” while others (who have been working on this tendency) may use the term “reformed perfectionist”. This begs the question (or many questions): What does it mean for something to be perfect? Where does this drive for perfection come from, and what are the unfortunate side effects? Perhaps most importantly, what can we do to challenge the idea of what’s perfect? How can we shift into a way of thinking that creates more peace (and less exhaustion) by challenging/changing expectations and ideals?
