Our body is a complex metabolic system of processes. A system with a lot of resilience. However, our way of life can disrupt these processes. That disruption can cause us to become ill. And long-term disruptions can cause chronic diseases, such as diabetes and obesity. Over the past three episodes of Lifestyle for Health we have taken a closer look at 'Metabolic Resilience'. In this podcast we discuss how certain sugars influence our metabolic health. How the political and public system often works against our health. And how we can change that! Our two guest are international experts on this subject: Robert H. Lustig, Professor emeritus of Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology at the University of California and Luc Hagenaars, Assistant Professor Health Policy Analysis at the Amsterdam UMC.
