Love is a wonderful thing. And a hard thing. And sometimes a tricky thing, especially after you’ve been through a tough relationship, or you’ve lost a partner. And, as you may have noticed in a few past episodes, I mentioned that a few months ago Bill and I got married.

People have been curious and asking me for details. So, I asked Bill if he’d be willing to openly share a bit of our journey. Not because our relationship is a perfect role model or will be exactly like yours, but because in life’s twists and turns, with pain and joy, there’s still hope for love again. It is our desire that in the details we share you find yourself nodding, laughing, and feeling encouraged about the love you have or would like to have in your own life. At the end, I share 5 takeaways that are worth the trip.

In this episode we talk about:

  • The complexity of marriage vows
  • Breaking up in the middle of a relationship
  • When work is his mistress
  • Getting even closer than you ever thought possible

Here’s a glance:

[6:20] Preferring bare nails, Bill’s nail color persona is Naked Ned.

[8:51] Bill shares his marriage history and suggests that many couples don’t understand the complexity and depth of marriage vows.

[15:06] When Mary hired Bill’s company to do some work there was an almost instant trust between them.

[20:36] An opportunity for a possible career change led Mary to tell Bill she was separated.

[29:06] After dating for a while, Bill told Mary she may want to date other people and later, they broke up.

[34:16] Mary and Bill describe the purpose and outcome of the index card incident.

[42:59] After a long courtship, three months ago Bill and Mary said I do. They share their marriage story.

[57:45] There is hope to find love again: Mary highlights 5 important takeaways.
