Janet Schwab, CNM, has an extensive hospital (rural and suburban), birth center, and home-setting birth services since 1983 in Colorado, Minnesota, and New York. She has been actively involved in starting and improving access to home birth services across the United States, particularly near Hillsdale, Albany, Kingston, and Rhinebeck, New York, plus Northwest Hills and Western Connecticut. She is deeply passionate about increasing access to home birth services for anyone who wants a safe, protected birth experience.
In the episode, Janet speaks about her childhood calling to midwifery and advocacy as an adult. She was one of the first midwives to introduce midwifery care in hospitals throughout New York City.
