I first met Spencer in 1974 in Santa Barbara at the YMCA on Hitchcock Way. He was a mentor to me then… as is now 40 + years later he still is. Hear the story how he inspired me to be inclusive with others.
Nov 23' I met up with Spencer in Ojai where he was there getting ready to kick off the Ojai Film Festival and perform at Libby Bowl where he is celebrating his new film, "More Than Just a Party Band", It is a full-length film following the personal and professional journey of Barnitz. It starts when his young band the Tan signed with EMI records in June of 1984.

Spencer’s journey is a compelling story of life, love, songwriting and thousands of dancing happy fans. Spencer shares this intimate episode of his colorful life and effervescent music history of The Tan, The Wedding Band, and Spencer also known as the wily epicenter of Spencer the Gardner. Enjoy!
