In episode 7 of The Intuitive Health Podcast, Dr Anthony discusses shame and what it was like growing up in Catholic Ireland as a gay man. He talks about the internalised homophobia that many LGBTQ+ people face, inwards misogyny experienced by women, and feelings of shame around body image and sexuality that can be experienced by all genders and identities. Often these feelings do not belong to us and are taken on as the projections of others and as a result of societal conditioning,
As well as exploring his own vulnerability, Dr Anthony encourages listeners to delve into their own feelings of shame and what they might be keeping in the shadows. He also explores the concept of duality and how we can make space for both in our lives without letting one take over.
Dr Anthony Rafferty is a doctor, reiki healer, shaman and intuitive healer based in Dublin, Ireland. Throughout this podcast series, Dr Anthony bridges the gap between science and holistic healing by combining evidence-based Western medicine with nutrition advice, lifestyle guidance and traditional energy practices.
