Episode 39: Go Gray in May: Living Through a Brain Cancer Diagnosis with Ashley Hareguy
Manage episode 428969615 series 2897830
Ashley Hareguy joins Sarah & Jess around The Morning Meeting table to discuss her journey since receiving a brain cancer diagnosis in March of 2020. The world was changing for most of us then, but for Ashley, in a different way.
After learning of her cystic glioblastoma, Ashley decided she would face every part of this journey with humour and positivity. Not once did she waver in the fact that she could, and would, fight this.
Through surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, while parenting a toddler (now 6 year old), Ashley was persistent and determined to be the example of a positive survivor story to tell for others, one she wished she found when starting her own journey.
Ashley started a Go Gray in May campaign that raises funds for the Tom MacNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. Donations can be made here https://www.cbrhfoundation.ca/ways-to-give/donate-now/
Ashley has us laughing throughout this episode, and we almost made it through without any tears at all, but we know this may be a heavy topic for some and if this is too much to listen to while managing your own health anxieties, we understand.
